The Edit — Issue 02
Where Things Stand
When the name changed, I wasn't sure what to expect.
Months on, I have an answer. More of you have reached out in these past months than in the two years before them — past clients, present ones, people I hadn't heard from in a long time — saying some version of the same thing: that the direction was finally clear, that the work has evolved, and that it finally had a name to match it.
That's on me to live up to. So here's where things stand.
SEA — Quinton Marine
In the lead up to the rebrand, I'd just come off a run of projects ranging from a chase boat through to a 50m-plus, all in preparation for the Mediterranean season. It clarified something I'd known for a while: my niche isn't the refit — that world belongs to the naval design studios. Quinton's place is the final layer, the light refresh, the finishing hand.
Since then, the focus has shifted to September and the yacht shows in Cannes and Monaco. The lead-up has produced the most concentrated run of conversations since the name changed, and a handful of collaboration discussions are now taking real shape. I'm delighted with where things stand, and where momentum is carrying them.
LAND — Quinton Interiors
Quieter, but moving. Two projects have reached completion — one residential, one commercial. More on both soon, but both felt momentous given the timing.
The main interactions since the rebrand have come from estate agents across Monaco and the Riviera — people who've recognised, on their own, that working together beats working apart. Finding the right synergies is now the deciding factor.
The conversations feel like they're taking hold. Several projects are in development, each one arriving by private referral.
A mentor once told me there's an interior designer on every corner in Monaco, but what sets me apart is me — being approachable, detached from the performative. I took that to heart. With a bit more confidence than I used to carry, I understand now that the practice is the person behind it.
A COLLABORATION
If you haven't heard of Riviera Living — you are about to.
I'm working on a feature with the lovely Claudia Vincenti, Founder and Editor of Riviera Living. More to come on that — but on the horizon is the inaugural issue of the digital magazine: an exclusive look at the beauty and sophistication of the French Riviera. The Premier Edition explores the people, places, and properties that define life on the Côte d'Azur, and Quinton will be part of that story.
You can download the premier edition here.
One more thing, since a few of you have asked. You'll notice more of me in this than there used to be — a face where there was once just a name on a door. That wasn't a strategy so much as an admission: the work and the way I work were never really separable. Pretending otherwise stopped making sense.
A few weeks ago I followed Cannes Lions — the festival where the world's advertising and creative industries gather each summer, part conference, part spectacle. One thing came through clearer than I expected: people respond to the person behind the work as much as the work itself.
That shows up differently across everything I do. The website is the portfolio. Instagram is a glimpse of the process and the day-to-day, with more of the personal side finding its way in over time. And the Edit is this — unpolished, personal, not written to please everyone. Some of it will land, some won't.
Think of it as the journal. I hope you'll stay for the journey.
If you've reached out this year — a note, a referral, a project — thank you. It's the reason any of this has momentum at all.
